OpenAI is buying operational coordination for drug programs, not only molecule-level reasoning. On **Tuesday, October 20**, **OpenAI** said it has acquired **Orchestra Bio**, a platform where scientists and program leaders hand off the monitoring and tracking of drug-development studies and campaigns to AI agents. Orchestra's team and technology will join **Rosalind**, OpenAI's life-sciences models and tools, including **GPT-Rosalind** and **Rosalind Workbench**. OpenAI gave no price.

**TechCrunch** reports the four-year-old startup had **reportedly** raised about **$20 million** as of 2025 from backers including Andreessen Horowitz, Atria and 8VC.
