> Apple said on November 3 that any developer can now connect an app to Siri AI through App Intents, in a Developer Preview in the iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, macOS 27.3 and visionOS 27.3 betas. Siri AI can use personal context, onscreen awareness and natural language to run an app's custom actions, and developers can build 'skills' that combine several actions. It reaches customers in a few months, App Store submissions open in spring, and Siri AI remains unavailable in the EU on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.

Apple is turning Siri AI into a way to use other companies' apps without opening them, which makes the assistant a new distribution channel that Apple controls. In a **Developer Preview** starting **November 3** with the **iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, macOS 27.3 and visionOS 27.3** betas, Apple said **any developer** can now integrate an app with **Siri AI** using **App Intents**.

## What developers get

Apps can bring their content and actions into Siri AI and use its personal context understanding, onscreen awareness and natural language, Apple said, so a user can ask in their own words to check a delivery, book a table or place an order. For complex requests, developers can build **skills** that teach Siri AI to combine several actions into one. Siri AI can also now surface any entity in the Spotlight semantic index, not only those that fit an existing schema, Apple said.

Users will not have to name an app while it is in the foreground, during a Live Activity, or in a conversation with Siri AI about the app, The Verge reported, citing Apple's developer documentation. Apple said it has started rolling out the capabilities across its own apps, including Calendar, Mail, Maps, Messages, Notes, Photos and Safari.

## When and where

Apple said the preview gives early access "before first shipping to customers in a few months," with **App Store submissions opening in the spring**, and that it will share more about terms and usage policies later. Siri AI is available in English, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, with Traditional Chinese, Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese coming. It is **unavailable in the EU** on iOS, iPadOS and watchOS, is not available to users under 13, and is subject to daily usage limits; Apple says expanded access "will be available for a fee in the future."

The move follows Apple's [opening of Pages, Keynote and Numbers to outside AI agents through MCP](https://timesof.ai/2026/10/apple-iwork-logic-ai-assistants-openai-mcp) in October.

## Limits

- Apple has not yet published the terms and usage policies that will govern Siri AI app experiences.
- Customer availability is described only as "in a few months"; the preview runs on beta software.
- Apple has not said what the paid tier for expanded access will cost.
