> Beijing-based GenRobot AI has closed a $100 million Series A+ round, disclosed on November 2 after closing in the third quarter. Investors include SAIC Motor, Baidu, Malaysia's Eastworlds, Shoucheng Holdings and humanoid maker Galaxy General Robotics (Galbot). GenRobot sells equipment that records human demonstrations plus software that turns them into robot training data. It says it has raised more than $300 million in total. No valuation was disclosed.

GenRobot's round shows investors in China's robotics boom paying for training data, not just for robots. Beijing-based **GenRobot AI** (简智机器人) has completed a **$100 million Series A+** round, TechNode reported on **November 2**. The financing closed in the third quarter and was disclosed on Monday. No valuation was given.

## Who invested

TechNode lists **SAIC Motor**, Malaysia's **Eastworlds**, **Baidu**, **Shoucheng Holdings** and humanoid robot maker **Galaxy General Robotics** (Galbot) as industry investors. Financial investors include **GL Ventures**, **CITIC Goldstone**, **CCB International** and **Huatai Zijin**. Zhitong Caijing, in a report carried by Sina Finance, adds SUNHELM and one more financial investor to the list.

## What GenRobot sells

Robots that learn from people need large amounts of recorded human movement, and GenRobot sells the tools to capture it. TechNode says its recording systems capture what a person sees together with hand and body movement during household, manufacturing and logistics tasks. Its Matrix platform then syncs, cleans and labels the recordings so robot developers can use them for training and testing.

According to the Zhitong report, GenRobot was founded in May 2025 and says it works with more than 30 AI companies in China and abroad. It says its data covers thousands of skills and more than a million hours, and that it delivers a million hours of usable data each quarter. The company aims to deliver ten million hours a quarter in 2027, and says it has raised more than $300 million in total.

Investors have been funding robot learning from several directions. In October, Eka Robotics [raised $150 million](https://timesof.ai/2026/10/eka-robotics-150m-series-a-1-45b-vision-force-action-model) for a model trained mainly in simulation rather than on human recordings.

## Limits

- The figures on data volume, customers and total funding are GenRobot's own, as relayed by Zhitong Caijing. We have not seen independent verification or a statement from the company itself.
- The round closed months before it was announced, and the reports do not say how the investment was split or what the company will use it for.
