> Meta is rolling out real-time voice and expressive avatar conversations in the Muse app on mobile, web and Mac for all US users, after previewing the feature at Connect 2026. Users tap a phone icon to start; Muse Realtime Avatar and Muse Realtime Voice power reactions while listening and speaking, with hundreds of voice styles. Voice on AI Glasses and Muse Charm is listed as coming soon.

Meta is turning the Connect demo into a default way to talk to Muse. On **November 5** the company said **voice and expressive avatars** are rolling out in the **Muse** app on **mobile, web and Mac** in the **United States**. Users tap the phone icon to start. The stack is **Muse Realtime Avatar** and **Muse Realtime Voice**: the avatar reacts while listening and speaking, users can choose voice-only, avatar-alongside, or full screen, and Meta says there are hundreds of voice styles.

## What Meta is shipping now vs next

Meta previewed real-time Muse conversations at **Connect 2026**. The US app rollout is the first general cut; Meta says voice conversations are **coming soon** to **AI Glasses** and **Muse Charm**. That continues the consumer hardware thread Meta opened when it [open-sourced Muse Gadget SDKs](https://timesof.ai/2026/10/meta-muse-gadgets) and teased Charm-class devices. TechCrunch notes Muse Charm is aimed at a year-end window and that chief AI officer **Alexandr Wang** posted a demo on X.

## Outside hands-on

**TechCrunch** and **The Verge** both confirmed US availability the same day. TechCrunch describes the default animated avatar (nicknamed Jolly) and notes Muse does not see the user — it hears them and reacts from the conversation. **Jay Peters** at The Verge, in a brief iOS hands-on, said responses were quick but the agent **occasionally pauses while looking something up**, and called his Zuckerberg-lookalike avatar "a little uncanny." Separately, Meta's [Muse Wonder frontier model](https://timesof.ai/2026/10/meta-muse-wonder-first-frontier-model) remains the intelligence layer behind the agent brand.

## Limits

- Rollout is US-only in Meta's post; no other-country dates.
- "Hundreds of voices" and realtime quality claims are Meta's; we have not benchmarked latency or interruption handling.
- Muse Charm and Glasses voice timing is "coming soon," not a dated ship commitment in the Newsroom post.
