Grok 4.5 in GitHub Copilot: Channel Win, Not a New Elo
xAI put Grok 4.5 in GitHub Copilot across VS Code, Copilot CLI, and cloud agents—selectable from the model picker (enterprise enablement may be required). API at $2/$6 per MTok. Copilot availability changes where developers invoke the model, not Arena or AA ranks by itself.
Copilot is still the default IDE AI for a large share of professional developers. Adding Grok 4.5 as a first-class picker option is a channel win for xAI against OpenAI-default Copilot habits—and expands Grok beyond grok.com / X. It does not by itself change Arena or Artificial Analysis ranks.
xAI announced that Grok 4.5 is available in GitHub Copilot. Developers can select “Grok 4.5” from the Copilot model picker in VS Code, the Copilot CLI, and cloud agents. Some business/enterprise tenants must enable the model in Copilot settings. On the xAI API, Grok 4.5 is listed at $2 per million input and $6 per million output tokens.

This is a distribution GTM story on top of the earlier Grok 4.5 model launch. Copilot remains multi-vendor; Grok joins OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and other models already offered depending on plan.
Grok 4.5’s standing remains as previously covered for the model launch: competitive coding/agent scores with price leverage versus Sol/Fable-class proprietary peers.
