OpenAI on July 15, 2026 launched Codex Micro (kbd-1.0-codex-micro)—a $230 compact control deck for Codex agent fleets, co-designed with specialty keyboard maker Work Louder and sold through OpenAI Supply Co. The device uses light-up Agent Keys for live status, customizable Command Keys, a joystick for common workflows, and a dial for agent reasoning level, managed via the ChatGPT desktop app. OpenAI framed it as a limited-run collaboration, not a mass-market consumer device—while Apple’s trade-secrets hardware lawsuit (filed the prior week) hung over broader device plans.
