Adani Enterprises and Jabil have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding for a proposed 50:50 joint venture to manufacture and assemble AI and data-centre equipment in India, the companies announced on Tuesday, October 13. The venture still needs definitive agreements and approvals.

What the venture would make

The companies say the JV would manufacture and assemble AI racks, servers, storage and networking equipment, plus power distribution units, liquid-cooling systems and transformers. They say it is expected to have multi-gigawatt AI rack manufacturing capacity and to provide installation and commissioning, serving hyperscalers, neoclouds, data-centre operators and enterprises in India and abroad.

Context the companies give

The MoU follows a June 2026 announcement of the two groups' intent to form an alliance, according to Jabil's release. The companies cite industry forecasts of 5 to 8 GW of Indian data-centre capacity by 2030, and say the venture aligns with Adani Group's $100 billion commitment to build 5 GW of green-powered AI-ready data centres by 2035. They estimate a global market opportunity of more than $3 trillion over seven years; that is their own estimate.

"Our proposed joint venture with Jabil marks a strategic step towards this future," Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani said in the release.

Limits

  • The MoU is non-binding; no investment figure for the JV itself was disclosed.
  • Market-size and capacity forecasts are those cited by the companies.
