Supabase Raises $150M (GIC) and Buys Turso for Per-Agent Databases

Four months after a $500 million Series F, Supabase announced $150 million led by GIC — with CapitalG, IronArc, and SquarePeg — plus acquisition of Turso to provision on-demand low-cost databases for agentic workloads (public cloud and BYOC). Company-reported usage: more than 1 million users and 4 million databases added per month, with ~70% of new databases created by agents or AI tools; Turso founder Glauber Costa joins as Head of Agentic Services. Turso deal price and this round’s valuation undisclosed.

Coding agents are already treating databases like files. Supabase is buying the architecture that makes millions of tiny ones cheap — and taking another GIC-led check to fund the bet.

Supabase announced October 2, 2026 $150 million in new funding led by GIC, with CapitalG (Alphabet’s growth fund), IronArc, and SquarePeg participating — four months after a $500 million Series F. In the same release it said it is acquiring Turso, whose platform provisions higher volumes of on-demand databases for agentic workloads. The company’s own blog frames the same acquisition thesis without restating the financing terms: agents spinning up databases at file-create ease, SQLite for small on-demand work, Postgres as workloads graduate.

Round, product, and people

Per PR Newswire / Supabase: the round includes employee liquidity; CEO Paul Copplestone cites CapitalG’s Alphabet-ecosystem connections; CapitalG GP Derek Zanutto is quoted on Supabase as open infrastructure for the AI build wave. Company-reported usage in the release: more than 1 million users and 4 million databases added per month, with ~70% of new databases created by agents or AI-driven tools; about page claim more than 13 million developers. Those counting methods are company-stated, not audited here.

Turso rebuilt SQLite in Rust and runs a cloud where a single server can manage millions of databases — load on demand, suspend when idle — available in public cloud and BYOC. Named Turso customers in the PR: Superhuman, Sauna.ai, CTO.new, Mastra. Turso founder Glauber Costa joins Supabase as Head of Agentic Services with co-founder Pekka Enberg and team; the Turso platform continues with a graduation path into the broader Supabase ecosystem. Acquisition price is not disclosed.

The infrastructure trade

This is agent-native database infra with a many-DB SQLite architecture attached to a Postgres-first platform that already claims agent majority of new DB creates. GTM bet: when Claude Code, Codex, and friends keep spawning isolated backends, the bottleneck is cheap per-agent databases plus a clear path to production Postgres — not another chat demo.

Limits

  • Financing ($150M, GIC lead, CapitalG / IronArc / SquarePeg, four months after $500M Series F, employee liquidity) is from the PR Newswire release; Supabase’s blog post focuses on the Turso acquisition thesis and does not restate round dollars.
  • Usage metrics (1M users / 4M DBs per month / ~70% agent-created / 13M developers) are company-reported.
  • Turso purchase price and this round’s post-money valuation are undisclosed.
  • Distinct from excluded same-window SoftBank / Armadin financing stories.
