Google is putting Gemini Nano + Tensor G6 at the center of a consumer device the way Apple put Apple Intelligence on iPhone — except Google already claims a 1 billion MAU Gemini app (Aug 11). Google used its Made by Google hardware show to launch Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL. The AI-domain news is the Google Tensor G6 chip plus Gemini Intelligence on-device: G6 packs 50% more TPU compute and, paired with the latest Gemini Nano, processes on-device AI tasks up to 3.5× faster while using up to 3.5× less energy versus Tensor G5 at launch. Hardware features built around that stack include Magic Capture (~400-frame selection), HiLight LED status on Pro models, Rambler voice input, and DeepMind sign-to-text.
