NVIDIA is adding four French startups to its investment list, but neither it nor the press has said how much it is putting in. In a blog post dated Sunday, October 12, NVIDIA said it had announced new planned investments in Doctolib, Entalpic, Genesis AI and Pigment. The amounts and stake sizes were not disclosed.

Les Echos reported on October 13 that CEO Jensen Huang announced the stakes at a reception NVIDIA hosted on Place Vendôme in Paris, alongside Economy Minister Roland Lescure. Les Echos quotes Huang as saying the stakes should help « lancer la révolution de l'intelligence artificielle en Europe » (in our translation, "launch the artificial intelligence revolution in Europe").

The four companies

NVIDIA describes them as follows:

  • Doctolib, a European healthcare technology company, builds agents for healthcare professionals and a digital health companion for patients.
  • Entalpic, based in Paris, works on engineering advanced materials at the atomic scale, with expertise in surfaces and interfaces for semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Genesis AI is a robotics company developing general-purpose robots, foundation models, data collection, simulation and robot hardware.
  • Pigment, based in Paris, builds a business planning platform for finance, sales, workforce and operations.

NVIDIA says it has previously invested in French companies Alice&Bob, Gradium and Scintil Photonics, and has committed nearly $10 billion to the technology ecosystem across Europe.

Limits

  • No dollar amounts, valuations or ownership percentages appear in NVIDIA's post or in the free portion of the Les Echos report, which is otherwise paywalled.
  • NVIDIA calls these planned investments; whether each has closed is not stated.
  • The English rendering of Huang's quote is a Times of AI translation from Les Echos' French.
