Anthropic Seoul Office: Asia Go-to-Market While Mythos-Class Stays Gated

Korea is a dense AI demand market (telecom, gaming, cloud, chaebol IT services). A local Anthropic office plus a science ministry MOU signals Claude’s Asia go-to-market is institutional—not only API traffic—while U.S. national-security controls on the newest models force a two-track reality: global partnership growth on one side, gated frontier capability on the other.

Anthropic opened a Seoul office and announced new partnerships across Korea’s AI ecosystem, plus a government MOU with the Ministry of Science and ICT to advance AI safety and responsible public-sector adoption. The office is led by KiYoung Choi (Representative Director, Anthropic Korea) and is hiring. Enterprise and research collaborations cited in company and local coverage include firms such as SK Telecom, LG CNS, and Naver Cloud, alongside university research networks (e.g., KAIST and peer institutions in the National AI Research Lab consortium).
