Samsung’s ChatGPT+Codex Rollout: From 2023 Ban-Era Caution to Enterprise Stack

Enterprise AI adoption is no longer a pilot story: a top global electronics firm is standardizing ChatGPT + Codex for tens of thousands of engineers and staff. That deepens OpenAI’s moat in corporate seats just as it prepares for public markets—and tests whether governed enterprise AI can deliver productivity without repeating 2023-style data-exfiltration scares.

Samsung Electronics is putting ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex in front of a massive employee base, OpenAI said. The deployment—described by OpenAI as one of its largest to date—covers all Samsung Electronics employees in Korea and all Device eXperience (DX) division employees worldwide, a sharp turn from Samsung’s earlier restrictions on consumer generative AI after source-code leak fears.
