Fable 5 Global Restore: First Full Export-Control Kill-and-Return Cycle
Anthropic restored Claude Fable 5 worldwide after Commerce lifted mid-June controls on Fable 5 and Mythos 5—Platform, Claude.ai, Code, Cowork; temporary 50% included usage through July 7. Proves the product can return—and that U.S. process can zero a flagship overnight.
The three-week Fable/Mythos freeze is the first complete export-control kill-and-restore cycle for a commercial frontier model family. July 1 proves the product can come back—but also that U.S. national-security process can zero a flagship overnight. Every lab shipping Mythos-class cyber capability now plans around that risk.
July 1, 2026 is the first full global product day for Claude Fable 5 after the June 12 export-control shutdown. Anthropic confirmed on June 30 that Commerce had lifted controls and that Fable would return Wednesday, July 1 worldwide; a July 1 status update stated access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 was restored per the redeploy plan. Mythos 5 remained on the trusted U.S. organization path first approved June 26.
What’s available on July 1
From Anthropic’s “Redeploying Claude Fable 5” post and July 1 access-restored update:
- Fable 5 surfaces: Claude Platform, Claude.ai, Claude Code, Claude Cowork—globally.
- Paid-plan economics: On Pro, Max, Team, and select Enterprise, Fable included for up to 50% of weekly usage limits through July 7, then via usage credits.
- Cloud hosts: Re-enable on AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Foundry as quickly as possible.
- Mythos 5: Access for a set of U.S. organizations (June 26 approval); expansion of Project Glasswing partners still in progress.
- Arc: Launch June 9 → global disable June 12 → partial Mythos thaw June 26 → full lift June 30 → general Fable restore July 1.

Limits
- “50% of weekly usage limits through July 7” is temporary included entitlement language—absolute tokens depend on plan tables.
- Cloud re-enablement on AWS/GCP/Foundry was “as quickly as possible,” not simultaneous day-one everywhere.
- Mythos 5 remains on the trusted U.S. organization path, not full global consumer availability.
