Anthropic Ships Claude Reflect Dashboard for Usage Patterns and Quiet Hours

On July 9, 2026, Anthropic launched a beta “Reflect” experience in Claude settings—usage summaries, topic patterns, quiet hours, break nudges, and AI Fluency coaching—for Free, Pro, and Max users with Memory on, framed as intentional AI use rather than pure engagement growth.

TLDR

Anthropic on July 9, 2026 introduced, in beta, a Reflect flow for Claude (web and desktop Settings): a dashboard that summarizes how you use Claude—topics, timing patterns, task types—over 1/3/6/12 months, with optional quiet hours and break reminders, plus prompts grounded in Anthropic’s 4D AI Fluency framework (Delegation, Description, Discernment, Diligence). Availability: Free, Pro, and Max users with Memory enabled; Cowork conversation reflection is “coming soon.”

What shipped

From Anthropic’s primary post “Introducing a way to reflect on how you use Claude”:

  • Usage reflection: High-level recap of activity patterns; peak times; what you spent time on (time-spent view noted as coming soon).
  • Intentionality UX: Periodic questions such as keeping work human even when Claude is faster; space to discuss goals with Claude.
  • Controls: Quiet hours; schedule a nudge after continuous use; both dismissible.
  • Skills layer: Maps usage to the 4D Fluency dimensions with concrete collaboration examples and suggestions (e.g. start a Project instead of re-explaining context).
  • Privacy bounds: Excludes incognito chats; does not pull raw files from connectors (e.g. inbox summaries may appear, source emails do not); health integration conversations excluded; insights not reused for other purposes per Anthropic privacy framing.
  • Sensitive topics: Developed with input from MIT Media Lab AHA, Boston Children’s Digital Wellness Lab, and Family Online Safety Institute; sensitive chats can appear only at high level.
  • Access path: Settings → Reflect; requires Memory.

Product positioning is deliberately anti-“maximize tokens”: Anthropic markets Reflect as helping users decide whether and how AI time aligns with their goals.

Why this story matters

Most consumer AI surfaces optimize for more sessions. Reflect is Anthropic productizing usage self-audit on the same day as major competitor agent launches (ChatGPT Work, Muse Spark 1.1 API). If the dashboard becomes a default habit, it is a small but real brand split: intentional Claude use as a first-class feature, not a blog post.
